Americans:

if not for the Israelis, we would have had peace with the Arabs long ago.

Israelis:

if not for the Settlers, we would have had peace with the Arabs long ago.

The above is like saying "if not for Colonel Doolittle, we would have had peace with Japan in 1942".

Actually...

• if not for the Settlers, the primary target would have been the Israelis
• if not for the Israelis, the primary target would have been the Americans
• if not for the Americans, the primary target would have been the Europeans

They hate us for what we are (the infidels) not what we do.
