1970 Legislative Reorganization Act opened the doors to the legislative procedure, giving the public an unprecedented insight into how a bill was written and voted on.
Moreover, now there is an API to access this information automatically!
However, it is not obvious that this is TRT: the transparency benefits the lobbyists who, essentially, move from the lobby into the committee chambers, and lobbyists are usually owned by the "big money" (often foreign!)
